Camp Concert

Room 24 you ROCK!

What a camp! I really enjoyed my one (and a little bit) days in Waihola with you all and have some wonderful camp memories to look back on! Many things impressed me on Friday and during the camp concert on Thursday night, probably the most significant was your positive attitudes to challenges (even when it came to scrubbing the toilets) and how you all got on so well. I'm proud of you all and you should also be proud of yourself for making camp a winner!

Thank you, thank you, thank you to all the parents, Mrs Q, Ms Downie, Mrs Tasi Cordtz and the amazing Mrs Garthwaite who made our camp happen, we were very lucky to have you all there! 

I would love a copy of all the photos taken during camp.  I think the easiest way to do that is to bring them in on a computer memory stick.  The sooner the better!

How are we shaped by our past?

Aha, now I may be slightly broken at the moment, but I am able to type away with one hand.... Below is an explaination of your homework up until Wednesday.  (We'll get back into spelling next week).

Before camp we learnt about what is involved in an ASPIRE project. We talked briefly about what happens at each stage. You will be taking your folders home each night, then 'boomeranging' them back to school each day to continue in class. We have started on the ACCUMULATION stage. This is the gathering step. Gathering topic ideas, then gathering appropriate questions, then gathering information. Your task for tonight is to decide on the topic you would like to develop.  You have a few options brainstormed already (in your topic books) and everyone has started to develop some deep questions. 

Remember your topic needs to be able to be relevant to our BIG question 'How are we shaped by our past?'  We are aiming to interview someone (ideally a Grandparent or similiar) so keep this in mind when choosing topics and questions.

On Wednesday you will hand in you folders with your topic choice and at least 5 deep questions.
